Important Service Conditions

These voice services are available exclusively to Australian customers and Australian network connections.

Approved Systems maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward the misuse of telecommunications services.
Our VoIP services must not be used for activities that exploit vulnerable people, engage in misleading or deceptive practices, solicit money under false pretences, or for any form of marketing abuse.
Use of the service for toll fraud, illegal activity, or unauthorised access will result in immediate service suspension and referral to the appropriate authorities.

Customers are responsible for ensuring the security of their VoIP accounts, SIP credentials, and passwords. Approved Systems is not liable for unauthorised access caused by weak or compromised credentials.

All call charges—including those resulting from misuse, compromised systems, or unauthorised access—are billed directly to the account holder.

Protocol support

Approved Systems uses an asterisk based system as our backend platform. Approved Systems deprecates the legacy SIP module; instead it uses PJSIP as the primary signalling protocol for all current deployments. PJSIP is backward‑compatible with standard SIP trunks, so you can still connect to providers or hardware that use SIP.

When configuring trunks, you can select the technology as PJSIP, IAX2 or Custom – IAX2 is often used for inter‑Asterisk, inter-FreePBX, or inter‑VitalPBX links, while “Custom” can integrate other protocols like H.323 for legacy PBX systems VitalPBX also includes built‑in profiles for WebRTC endpoints.

By default, PJSIP uses port 5060 (UDP/TCP) for signalling. For encrypted signalling and media, Approved Systems allows you to enable TLS with SRTP: this uses port 5061 and provides secure call setup and media encryption. We can on request configure devices and trunks to use TLS and SRTP through the interface.

Our supplied IP phones and softphone configurations can operate behind a VPN (we support OpenVPN and IPsec tunnels on selected devices), meaning your voice traffic is encrypted and private even before it reaches the SIP/PJSIP layer. Customers who already have their own PBX can register to our service via PJSIP or IAX2 trunks; we can provide configuration details for TLS, SRTP and VPN integration.
